I hope this is not the wrong place to say this but I'll preface this by saying I'm endlessly thankful for all the hard work you put into your different services they're a real lifesaver.
I am currently getting my homelab up and running and I was wondering how you deal with ip rotation on your home ip? My isp gives me the same ip if I just ask for a new one so I have to actually wait before bringing the wan interface back up. Even if it were instant it'd cause any tcp session to expire and that sounds like quite the hassle for a home connection. Is there a trick to it that escapes me at the time?

Quick recap on performance here,
I prefer when INV NADEKO isn't showing options for quality... Or auto-adjusting. Apparently booting the site from Internet Explorer fixes that without a cookie (that is, locating the settings and placing "Small" quality. It skips this step). The load speed is immense like this.

By the way if you boot Gelbooru on Internet Explorer no ads will load because they use modern java script. (Seriously they all fail)
This is not to say I recommend this browser, but considering the last sentence I may now be saying yes
Out of box and no need to install Ad/uBlock, also it will fail to load virus sites meant for Chrome and modern browsers... So the dinosaur IE is the best option automatically, and people do not notice :P :3
Like Linux that you can't also assault with virus, because nobody knows how to or nobody specifically aims their crosshair to this time-space phenomena!

You do a better work at representing yourself that I do myself, after all I listen to much music!
And I cannot fit messages within 256 characters, I failed for months to post to you at least once and ended up typing "WHAT" instead, after all I gave up... Back then it was more difficult than typing up A GTA San Andreas cheat at random, and you know even that is easy with practice and two helper monkeys (smashing th ekeyboard) at LAN

Another anecdote, I tried to bypass the kawaii girl using KDE Konqueror running in Windows 7, remember that bulcrap that ran KHTML? nobody.

But I managed to find a working file in windows
I booted it up and it was so bad I couldnt get past the NADEKO guestbook this time! IT ran worse than IE I almost threw my Playstation 4.5 controller and the PSP go jailbreaked PRO-C2 at the screen

So of course, I end up pulling the chromium dinosaur
The girl was at last, flattered, not before getting a tornado kick to the bollocks after for a 2nd round, the 1st one was Yandex asking for my phone number (I don't have 1 sorry) not before fighting the captcha in a street fighter 1v1 followed by a touhou mugen fight

Mhm, yeah, that is possible, but I can't do it right now due to the complexity of the current setup. I need to make some changes to Anubis and maybe change how I redirect people to the different domains and backends. It's kinda messy right now.

Bro clearly doesn't hate JS enough. I hate JS so much I never enable it on my main browser (therefore cannot use inv).

Whining aside, would you consider disabling captcha for TOR domain? Bots are not likely to use it, and if they do, you can turn it back anytime.

First of all, massive thanks for maintaining Invidious for all of us, I use it daily for listening to podcasts on my old phone. I have a question regarding the new captcha, is there a way to use non-JS video player even when Javascript is enabled? My phone struggles with JS player, but works perfectly on non-JS variant.

... I started playing with Invidious with a programming language that I never touched on my life which was Crystal and then I added exclusive features that are only available on my instance just to make the instance better for me and everyone else. Same goes with invidious-companion which uses Typescript. I fucking hate javascript, but typescript seems to be a sane version of javascript so developing for it has been pretty cool :3

Now that I added the new captcha to Invidious (anubis) I will contribute to it since I feel there is some missing features that can be improved and added.

You are not obligated to contribute, but if you feel that you could add a useful feature to something, get your hands dirty and do it.

Blocking recaptcha and encouraging system admins of the webpages you use to use something more privacy friendly like Cloudflare Turnstile or hCaptcha (they are not the best, but Google really wants to deanonymize everyone)

Take a look at https://wiki.rossmanngroup.com/wiki/ReCAPTCHA

>>259
By contributing with the software that I use to host everything. If you are interested on Invidious, get into it, play with it and maybe open a pull request to add a feature. When I started hosting Invidious, it was because simply I didn't want to use youtube at all and I wanted to give people from south america a little bit of privacy (since I'm the only one hosting most of the privacy related services for south america, on south america). Then I wanted to scale up my Invidious instance to make it more accessible for everyone (the day Youtube started killing most instances) and I had to get my hands dirty (in a good sense).

Thanks for all the work keeping the site running! :)

Also requesting that something other than mCaptcha be used if possible.
I'm currently having to use an older browser version for technical reasons, and mCaptcha doesn't work on it (had to use browserling as a workaround to be able to post this).
Same issue with CloudFlare's "checking your browser" thing, making it impossible for me to access any site that uses it. :(

I tested the ones recommended by >>248, and both Anubis and whatever xcancel is using work correctly for me, so I'd suggest using one of those.
Of the other ones I can recall, hCaptcha and reCaptcha also work, though the latter probably isn't a good idea for this since it's owned by Google.

P.S. There is a markdown issue on https://nadeko.net/coolsites/ in the "Privacy news" section.

As long as YouTube allows access with its iOS app (and so long as Apple doesn't collude with YouTube to identify, tag and deanonymize iOS app users) Invidious and the multitude of alternative YouTube clients are probably not going away. Barring Apple/iOS collusion, to fully "control" the iOS app pathway, YouTube would have to force all users to log in which is probably infeasible unless they got really desperate.

Most of the issues stem from regular internal-external changes (not technically the API) and IP blocks. That's why Invidious keeps getting hit yet there's usually a fix in under a day. YouTube has successfully squeezed out less savvy instance hosts, though, so we're only left with 2 or 3 public ones.
