Fijxu is correct, browser fingerprinting is far more important than purely IP tracking these days. Look into firefox hardening or at least use the actual Tor Browser. The goal isn't to be 100% untraceable (if that's even possible with modern hardware fuckery), just to make the oncocytes work for it. Consider the above + legacy hardware dedicated to only youtube viewing and nothing else.
Again, how many users does invidious even have compared to youtube? It likely costs them more to block this than anything they make back with ads.
I don't think "enshittification" goes far enough. More like carcinisation. Terminal enshittification? Glowing crab people? I think that accurately describes the soulless meat computers working on this sort of thing. Can't expect objects to have a conscience I suppose. Somewhere out there, a person in a country without free & open access to internet just lost their only way of keeping up to date.
