I'm with the schizos on this one.
Up until recently, the family computer at my parents' place ran on an unupdated version of Windows 7 Ultimate. This, of course, implies that it also had an out-of-date browser installed. It's always been connected to the internet, yet it was never a part of any botnet, nor did it ever get "hacked". Here, another example: to this day, a lot of my friends and family use phones that have stopped receiving updates years ago and they've never suffered any consequences from it.
Anecdotes, sure, but my point is: most people can afford to make *some* security compromises and still be fine, but pretty much everyone is affected by the strict anti-privacy stance of big companies like Google and Microsoft. I'm sure they put in a great deal of effort to make their programs more secure than what is offered by the competition - it's to be expected when your value is measured in trillions. But, how is the privacy situation supposed to get any better if we keep agreeing to their terms?

we're so fucked, with all the DRM, AI surveillance, OSS shitification, digital ID, javascript
until now the only place with free speech was the internet but it's likely that even this will go away
you can't have a private conversation in public anymore, even in the unlikely case that you and your friends dont carry a phone, mass surveillance will see, hear, and know what you're saying and lower your social credit score.
you may be able to find somewhere that isn't being audio surveilled (unlikely) but its impossible to hide your location. and how long until not having a phone or ID tracker and speech monitoring card is made illegal?
we're not heading towards 1984, we are there.

there is nothing inherently insecure about linux. android is linux and so is chromiumOS/chromeOS. It is more like no one has built a sandbox as good as android's for use in desktop linux.
And you still have to make privacy compromises with win11 or macos. The most secure AND private option is going to be secureblue or better yet qubesOS if you can take the incovenience.

Better distros for newcomers

Fedora Silverblue https://fedoraproject.org/atomic-desktops/silverblue/
openSUSE Aeon https://get.opensuse.org/microos/

Remember that Linux is inherently insecure and even with advanced hardening cannot be made more secure than Windows 11 or macOS. It is strongly advised to do as many activities as possible in the updated Chromium browser.

Google Chrome https://www.google.com/chrome/
Microsoft Edge https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/download
Trivalent https://github.com/secureblue/Trivalent

Only install from the official repo and avoid the flatpak versions since they break Chromium's sandboxing. No other browsers are recommended per the reasoning here.

>"chromium is the most private browser"

Actually Chrome is the most private and secure cross-platform browser. Nobody would argue Firefox is more secure, and most Linux builds of Chromium disable CFI and update slowly. It's much saner to use Chrome than Firefox or Chromium. You can disable telemetry through policies similar to Firefox about:config. It's not "bullshit". It's facts. What's bullshit is Firefox. The only reason anyone still uses it is because of retarded ideologies like "monopoly bad" and "everything google does is bad".

Made a math mistake, it would take 29 years to creamate every body, still impossible to do in just 5
Anon de on 2025-10-12 18:03 No.1627
And the shower rooms didnt even have the capacity to gas the millions of people that are said to have died. they could hold only around 300 people. lets say it takes 2 hours to get the people in, gas them, and then take them to the creamatorium (which was on the upstairs level btw)
so it would take 1167 full days to reach 4.2 million people. Plus everyone of the nazis would've gassed themselves because bodies absorb cyanide gas.

Also you can deny the crucifixion all you want, but if you deny the holocaust you will be put in jail in iirc 25 countries.

Also, jews killed JFK, holocausted arabs all across the middle east, pushed for mass immigration into western countries. Have repeatedly talked about eradicating whites.
That's why it became "popular" to hate jews recently
Anon de on 2025-10-12 17:55 No.1626
no order asking for the execution of jews ever given, the best there is, is the "final solution" which doesn't talk about killing jews
zyklon-B was used to delouce clothes, and the chambers used for this were marked with warnings of deadly gas. but these have never been alleged to be used for "gassings"
David Cole (a jew) who went to Aushwitz and other camps to investigate the gas chamber story found that the alleged chambers has plate glass windows, wooden doors, non-explosion-proof switches (hydrogen cyanide is explosive), had functional plumbing, water boilers in the next room. After releasing this research he received death threats from one former Isreali defence minister, Cole paid a ransom and disappeared from the public, since then that Isreali minister threatened a US congressman and was planning to blow him up, the FBI arrested him and he committed suicide in jail

Actually if you ask any jew, they will identify themselves as (ethnically) jewish first, not religiously
also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haavara_Agreement
also 6 million jews couldn't possibly have been killed:
1. where's the boddies? aushwitz was built on a swamp, so they couldn't bury the "4.2 million jews". they couldn't also burn them because there were 50 cremation ovens which would take 3 hours to burn a single body. 4.2 million would take 1438 years to creamate, plus 120 pounds of coal per person, so 252000 TONS. no mass graves ever found.
also "skin lampshades" - the US Army has already admitted that those were staged propaganda props and none have ever been actually found.
also, why not just shoot every jew when they first found them like the KGB did to Christians? why smuggle them into massive work camps and then trick them into showers that were actually gas chambers but "OH WELL WATER COMES OUT... MUST BE LUCKY!" -holocaust survivor

So you enjoy having all your apps spy on every other app on your entire computer thus your whole internet activity? In an X11 system, privacy of all apps is privacy of the most invasive app, or worse if you have multiple invasive apps running at once.

GNOME secures privileged Wayland protocols and sandboxes thumbnailers so it's the only desktop environment you should use. KDE was behind GNOME in adopting secured screencopy and has more feature bloat and invasive themes and extensions.

Use GNOME and do not install any extensions or themes. If you are uncomfortable with GNOME's default workflow, do not use Linux.

It's beyond me why people still use X11 when Wayland is available and has been for over a decade.

Supporting X11 isn't user freedom. It's a disservice to everyone because it's essentially unmaintained and has been for a long time and does not support GUI isolation, thereby undermining any and all efforts to sandbox apps from each other. No desktop environment or distro should support X11. Doing so puts their users at extreme risk of their privacy being compromised because without strong sandboxing, you cannot have privacy on Linux. Windows 11 is far more private than any Linux-based OS using retarded X11.

trying to force X11 into being deprecated, it almost seems like it's organized by microsoft or someone else who's trying to ruin linux
When every popular distro moves away from something like X11, will you use the now deprecated EOL choice or the new supported choice?
Do this for a dozen critical packages and now you've boxed in every linux user in your walled garden where all packages are maintained by google and microsoft, and using anything else would mean using outdated, inferior or unobtainium hardware, with outdated software, etc. etc. etc.

TOR Browser is based on Firefox ESR which is just Firefox with slower updates and fewer security fixes. Do not use.

This doesn't prevent fingerprinting or tracking. If anything, it makes you easier to track because you stand out from the masses. If you really need this, Chrome lets you disable javascript in the settings.

>ALL proprietary software MUST be ditched
No it must not. Whether or not something is proprietary or open source has almost nothing to do with how private or secure it is. It's merely a different release model. Most security researchers agree open source != security.

>Use your OWN cloud (sic, *4), SaaS (misleading, see *5), end-to-end encryption, and on-premise local solutions
Actually Google Drive, iCloud, and OneDrive might be more secure than your own local solutions. They use secure servers with minimal attack surface. Most people do not constantly harden their systems and install tons of bloat on their systems. Unless you're an experienced professional, do not attempt to self-host your own cloud. You will get hacked and lose everything.

All services are subject to data harvesting and privacy policies. Using Proton services requires just as much trust as using Google services.

Chrome is the most private and secure cross-platform browser. You can disable telemetry through Chrome flags, policies, and settings.

Google, Microsoft, and Apple are creating a more secure internet. Mozilla, Proton, and other companies deceive people into thinking they can have privacy by pushing them into using insecure, privacy-unfriendly software and protocols like Email (use Signal, SimpleX, or iMessage instead).

People today are misinformed and vulnerable because they listen to random FOSS ideologists instead of actual security experts who know what they're doing.

Don't give Apple money if you can help it
Don't give it to Google
Don't give it to Amazon
Don't give it to Surfshark, or any other VPN's that commonly sponsor youtubers
Cloudflare is very spooky too
your best bet is with something like MullvadVPN, look for VPN's that scizos use, check out MentalOutlaw on yt, but you're still trusting some company to not give your data to someone.
Tor and I2P is decentralized so theres less chance that multiple nodes you're using are compromised

The idea that you will be targeted for looking like a criminal is retarded
Everybody is targeted, maybe normal people even more than criminals. You don't actually believe the NSA spies on every single human so they can catch terrorists, do you?
And if they actually cared about crime, with all the data they capture they could've stopped SO MANY mass shootings, terrorist attacks, etc.
"We've had him on our radar for years" - The FBI every time someone shoots some political figure.
Also if the tor was ONLY used by criminals or journalists then there would be a gurantied reward on exposing tor users, but if half the traffic is hentai then there is a risk that all the resources you invest to compromise tor will be for nothing. So your advice is malicious to privacy since less normal traffic over tor = less privacy for sensitive traffic.
Every ISP is required by law to record your telemetry and give the government access to it since 1998

This all seems like a troll post designed to rage bait seasoned veterans.

Anyhow, Tor, the majority of VPNs and ISPs in general's compromisation aside... there is absolutely no such thing as a totally impenetrable browser and there probably never will be. The longer it's around, the more likely a dedicated cracker will discover an exploit in its code. Doesn't matter if it's spaghetti or lasagna, sooner or later, it eventually gets found. This exploit will be either internalized in the browser itself, or externalized through malicious + spying software disguised as a quaint add-on which is installed by an naïve unsuspecting user unaware of the snake that is about to come flying out of what they think is a can of nuts.

More private = more secure

Edge is more private than Tor browser because it is more secure. Tor uses retarded Firefox ESR which doesn't get most vulnerabilities patched by Firefox.

Most people shouldn't use Tor anyways. Tor can be dangerous since Tor nodes are usually malicious, easily identifiable, and associated with illegal activity. Tor is intended to be used only by activists, journalists, whistleblowers, and people in oppressive countries, not regular users. By using Tor you're robbing those in need of bandwidth and putting more unnecessary load on Tor nodes thereby hurting privacy. Your ISP and even many VPNs are likely more trustworthy than Tor. Use Apple Relay or Cloudflare WARP if needed.
