I tried to register at 22:25 UTC on february the 20th, but I came across a message saying registrations had already been disabled when it was supposed to be possible until 00:00 UTC. Maybe I misunderstood the moment and it was 00:00 changing from 19th to 20th instead of from 20th to 21st?

If you want to know what data Invidious collect, visit https://inv.nadeko.net/privacy (but all that data is already worthless if you use a random username or your username is not discoverable on any other internet services. There is also people that register on Invidious with their email address for some reason, when there is a disclaimer on the account creation section discouraging the use of email addresses)

If you are afraid of your IP being logged for whatever reason, you can always use Tor. But that is not worth unless you really really don't trust me.

There is better ways to track someone, and logging their IP address is the most useless one. Take a look at https://abrahamjuliot.github.io/creepjs/ or https://fingerprint.com/

for me, disabling javascript makes it so videos don't drop out in the middle of playback. The downside is it limits the resolution to 480p or something. Is it like this for anyone else?

Tutorial for INV.NADEKO users who can't watch an specific video

with error "Unsupported video type or invalid file path" this message shows in Internet Explorer 11

Hold press CTRL + U until the site's HTML shows up
Grab the huge link and then paste it in another tab
It will always work, unless backend is loose (switch backend) or link has 18 age tag (I tried cheating it by removing it)

If hosting is $60/month there can't be that many users. Why is google trying too hard to shut down all these invidious instances over 0.00001% of their traffic? Ads? hahahha

Try watching youtube over tor using their trash bloatware native client. Doesn't work even with no adblock and all JS enabled. Same "protecting community" message even though you can't login or interact with community in any way. Glowtube is a monopoly that won't even let you watch the news without tracking your ever move, knowing there are no real alternatives. Scumbags.

Materialious is no longer hosted due because it uses the Invidious API to work, and the API is disabled right now. You can only use Invidious, but not third party software like FreeTube and Clipious.

I had to do this to prevent bots requests and bad implementations of the API on software like Materialious and Clipious (those two spam the /api/v1/videos endpoint a lot if the user goes into the watched videos history), and if a lot of requests go tho that API endpoint, the instance gets blocked. If it's already struggling to work at this state, imagine how bad it would be if I enabled the API.

I may do it but it will be a very basic, no bullshit, no buzzwork privacy policy. In advance, for services that work as an alternative frontend only with no registration like Redlib, Quetre, Breezewiki, the only info collected is near to zero, sometimes I enable access logs to filter bots that ignore robots.txt (AmazonVideo, meta-externalagent, and others) and error logs are always enabled to identify errors, issue rate limits with a JS PoW captcha (that is only used on invidious for now) and so on.
